Topic: Ok so I am back again
I have not been on for over a year. I kept putting this off. Now I have been spending big bucks to figure out what is wrong with me. Having lots of symtoms. Have ruled out MS but doctor says probably peripheral neuropathy in my feet. Pre-diabetic. I am now on blood pressure pills. I am exhausted all the time from lack of sleep and from carrying around myself. I am going for a sleep study to see if I have sleep apnea.
I am calling my GP tomorrow and get a new referral to Dr Loggins. I have met my deductible for year so maybe I can get this going.
I am hopping on the train to wellness.

You don't sound like a failure to me either! You should probably increase your water intake though. In this heat and humidity, it is EXTREMELY important. My surgeon stopped in to our support group meeting tonight and told us that dehydration is the #1 complication post WLS and STRESSED that AT LEAST 64 ounces of water a day is critical! That will also help with the "hunger". I agree with the others that fruit may not be your best option right now. fill yourself up with some protein (shakes, turkey/chicken roll ups with low fat cheese, greek yogurt....you get the idea). Remember to get your meals and snacks in so your body doesn't feel like it's starving. Just keep on the plan and the weight will continue to drop.
I lost "weird" all through my journey (I'd lose 4-5 pounds in 1 week and nothing the rest of the month. It's discouraging, but it DOES come off if you stick to your surgeon's plan!!)
You can do it! Keep you chin up and be proud of what you have accomplished so far! Enjoy the rollercoaster ride of WLS..... (it's better than the Excalibur! haha)

Sorry you are having a hard time. Stalls happen and are frustrating but if you follow the rules you will lose. Try doing more protein, more water and cut out the fruit. I tend to be very carb sensitive and don't lose when I eat them. Now that I am maintaining I have been able to add them back into my diet. Good luck and keep your chin up!

hi Nathan! You are the closest one I know of to my surgery date, so I am always watching for updates from you. You are NOT a failure. Think abou being 6 weeks out and down 18 pounds...thats three pounds a week. When in your previous life did you ever lose 3 pounds a week? I bet it wasnt often, if ever. thats almost half a pound a day, Nathan. DONT expect to lose faster than your body is ready for. And do drink more, it is so important. I discovered that drinking more and getting a few more calories really helps. If you dont eat enough, your body tries to hold onto the weight cause it thinks you are starving. Have you been moved to regular diet yet? That will help, too. In this heat, you better be drinking a lot, ok?
PS I started the gym that comes with the surgery through EMMC today and loved it. Have you been cleared to start yet?
