First I would like to say congrats on taking that first step!
My husband and I have both gone through/going through the process and we are so glad we decided to do this together. Our doctor is Dr. Dayhim. She is wonderful and very informative so I am sure you will love her! We both decided to go with the sleeve. This was my husbands first choice but my first choice was RNY. I changed to the sleeve as Dr. Dayhim was concerned about my age (26). She felt that because I was younger the sleeve would be a better option as I would be able to take and absorb any medications that I may need for future health issues. Our first informational meeting was January 6th. My husband just had his surgery on May 1st and mine is sceduled for May 22. So like the above poster we have only had to wait about 4 months.

I haven't had a revision but a friend of mine is going to be having a conversion from lap band to RNY at Maine Medical Center. Dr. Cobean is an amazing surgeon and does a lot of revisions. I think what they do exactly in revisions depends on your specific case. Best bet would be to ask when you go for your first appointment. Best wishes!

I see this is a bit old, but just wanted to drop in and say hi. I'm having the Sleeve surgery performed by Dr.Toder on May 10. The entire process for me has only taken 4 months (Information meeting January 6 - Surgery May 10). Dr. Toder would not let me have the Lap Band (nor was it even one of my choices) but said I could have either the RnY or Sleeve.
HW: 360, Pre-Op Diet W: 334.6, SW: 316.6, CW: 245.4

I -had- planned on working in the yard. Last weekend, I cleared some brush, trees and rocks, and then built a post-and-rail fence. I have one more of those projects to do (other side of the driveway). Yesterday afternoon, I got the brush mostly cleared, and some of the raking done. But I intended to use today to finish clearing, and then build the fence. But, honestly, I don't want to be outside doing it in the rain...so I'll have to find something else to do!
So. It's raining. And it's going to rain the rest of the weekend, it sounds like. So, maybe we won't be doing the outdoor activities this weekend. What's your favorite healthy rainy-day activity?

It was nice meeting both you and Nathan too. A bit of an insurance glitch (hopefully just a glitch) so things are on hold hopefully just for a week or so......
Sorry I had to rush off....I was only going to stay for an hour because I was supposed to meet some folks but when I got the information at the orientation meeting, it said we had to stay for the full meeting so I had to book it out of there but wanted to say hi to you and Nathan first.
