Topic: going to start a weekly goal post, wanna join me?
Good Morning,
I was just posting and replying to Julz and months ago and I came on here weekly and always post my goal for the week. things I needed to work on, and Boy I had and still have lots to work on. bad habbits, lazyness, better choices, more water, more protein. so, not knowing how you will all take to this, but I thought I would try doing it again. so starting today, I will post my goal for the week. Please join me and post something you need to work on. I've been having a hard time drinking my water, so I'm going to work on that. so to begin with I'm going to drink over 46 oz of water a day this week. if no one joins me after a few weeks, i'll discontinue my weekly goal post. i need your help, lets all do this together

Good Morning Julz,
Yes, I agree, I think my Dr has a huge RNY clientel, so much of the support groups were about RNY. so I relied on OH, Lap Band forum and many friends I got to know from around the world who have had their band for years. many of us stuggle every day, trying to figure it out, and yes, every day is different, one day I can eat one food and not the next. but it was nice to hear others stuggle and us trying to figure this out together. again, my mucus problem was not common, but now i'm reading alot about it, and that Dr's are actually treating their patients for it. all the over counter stuff I've tried isn't helping. That is why I have such a hard time eating before 10 am. I even have a hard time with coffee some mornings. I also still eat too much and feel like I could use a small fill, but i DEF can't do it because of my mucus problem, so that is just something I need to work around and do my best and i'm ok, with it. the band is tricky, but there is still NO way I would ever get RNY. like I said before, the band is there to slow me down, to tell me when i've had enough, to keep me away from lots of foods ie: breads, pastas, french fries, chips so I'm happy with my band. i'm healthy, trying my best to walk 6 days a week = 10-12 miles a week and that is not something I even considered before my band. I am still far from my goal, (27 lbs) but at this rate maybe reach it in 2012. haha I have pushed myself to as far as I can walk right now with the arthritis I have in my feet, knees and hips. maybe as I loose more, I can go more. without my band I would probaby be back where I was 5 years ago. I'll take my size 12-14. I don't do the following: go out to eat much, if we do I eat before we go or after, I order a drink and sit and enjoy the company. I refuse to waste money on something and get stuck and get the look from everyone around the table and waitress, and suffer. I don't try new foods or eat carbs in public. (parties, bbqs, games) but I do so much more then I should and still working on turning those do into Don'ts, haha I should start a Goal post everyweek like I used to, it helped me alot and might help others. talk to you soon, Cheryl

Topic: RE: MOcca Coffee??
LOL!! I literally just dump in the amounts until it "looks" right. I'm guessing one cup cooled coffee. 1/4 to 1/2 cup skim milk and maybe a tablespoon of Torani. If it's not chocolate enough, you could put in a little more to taste. I usually make this in a big travel mug and sip on it most of the morning. I put in lots of ice because I like my iced coffee cold.

hehee, OK< i'm on it. can't wait to try it. can you give me amounts?? like one cup cooled coffee, to how much Torani?? teaspoon? 1/4 cup??? i can't wait

I loved Iced Mocha's. I make mine with coffee that I brew and let cool, skim milk and Torani sf chocolate syrup. Not quite as good as Tim Horton's, but it does the trick. I found the trick was to use a lot of skim milk and make it almost a latte.

If I remember correctly it is different with differnt dr's. some have a goal, % of weight they want you to loose, and NO, it is the same with the band or RNY. good luck, the sooner you comply and show you are serious about this process the sooner they will approve you
