Topic: RE: And The Journey Begins!
Hi Kelley,
Thanks for the reply! It sounds like we are at about the same place. I went for my first appt. Aug 20th. Dr Bang (in Dr. Loggins office) feels the Roux en Y is best for me so that's what we are going with because I agree that would probably be the best.
Here's what I've got going so far.... Sept 1st: Informational Meeting I have to attend again (first one I attended was a year ago and he wants me to go to another one), Sept 1st 8PM- Sleep Study. Sept 3rd: Nutrition Class (3 hours). Sept 15th: Physical--including pap and all that fun stuff lol. Sept 28th: Endoscopy (they are hoping to get the colonoscopy scheduled for the same time). This week I will be scheduling my Mammogram. I also will go that same day and have my lab work done while I am over there. I've already had my EKG. I have to have an ultrasound on my legs to check circulation and no blood clot issues. They will schedule that. They also want to schedule a Chest x ray and the psych. eval. Aside from that I need to lose 27 lbs and get off of caffeine and carbonated beverages. Are you in the Lew-Aub area? Will you be at the Sept 1st mtg? If so, see you there! Lori

Hi Cheryl,
Thanks for posting that because I don't exercise formally--and even informally, hardly at all these days. Sure I can walk to the corner store and back a few times a week, no problem. But I get discouraged because I can walk only about 20 minutes without needing a break and/or feeling sore. Having fibromyalgia doesn't help matters but still, it's discouraging.
I'm anxious to catch up on your journey because last time I was here not long after you had the surgery you were pretty discouraged and not losing as much as you would have liked. How is that going now? I imagine with all that exercise you are kickin some serious butt! LOL. Hugs, Lori

People that don't suffer from the same addiction as we do, do not understand. It's not like an alcoholic can abstain completely we still have to eat to survive.  Don't let them get to you, you have done your research and you know what the consequences COULD be.  But don't count on dumping, only about 40% (I think less) actually dump.
