I wish that they had found it the first time around. It may hae saved me some agony and another surgery. Im sore but doing better. sleep is lacking. Wish i knew what caused it so that i could have stopped it. I know that for sometime now i am done with surgery. I just hope that the g-tube in my stomach will come out easy without surgery.

Hi Everyone,
I finally have the energy to post.  I can read post from my cell but cannot post for some reason.  So anyway I had my surgery Tuesday the 21st.  It went well.  I did choose to spend the night in the hospital at my costs due to not feeling well and needing help with voiding and not passing out when standing.  I guess i went into surgery a bit dehydrated so I ended up with a ton of fluids.  Surgery went well and I came home Wednesday with compression garments and 4 drains.  I have basically been couch ridden since then.  I have showered and pain is minimal but just no energy to do anything but sleep.  I have also had a hard time eating.  Everything turns my stomach.  I was set on protein, protein, protein but decided yesterday that anything was better than nothing as all my protein choices were not working so I had a banana and fudgicle...then a frozen meal.  I am feeling much better and now am able to eat a bit more.  Never thought I would have to force myself to eat!!!!  I go Wednesday to get three drains out (so they say...not much drainage) the 4th is still draining alot so I think I will have to keep it for a while.  I hope to post pictures as soon as I am able.  They removed about 5 lbs of extra skin. :)

Best of luck!  It will be here before you know it.  Luckily for me, I lost my cravings for junk food immediately after surgery.

From what I hear at support group this is a very common occurance. There are at least 3 folks there who've had this happen to them. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Well I am home. Still feeling sore and tired. Not sleeping. JOYS. Having a hard time eating stuff. Dairy is getting harder to handle. I have a follow up on the 7 of October with my dr and hopefully finally find out what happened. At least now that I'm not all drugged up. Out of work till at least next friday. Would like to go back sooner for half days but really don't want to push myself.

As for what happened this is all i understand:

Monday: found an internal hernia and had it repaired. sernt home

Tuesday: felt okay alittle acky nothing out of the ordinary till my cat landed in my stomach at about 1130.

Wednesday: pain beyond no belife. Taken to PEN BAY and sent to EMMC.

later told that i had a bowel obstruction and that it was all twisted and turned on itsself. NEVER heard of this. I was told that a portion of my bowel removed. Don't know how much. I now have a g-tube and a good long scar going down my stomach.
