There is 27g of sugar in Boost. I have tried a new, well not so new just went back to stage one. I'm going to try and eat small (2-3 tbs) of food about every 30 to 60 min and see how that works. I'm gioing to try different foods. I feel like i'm starting over and re-learning what i can and can't eat.

Im wondering if its from where they removed so much of my insides.

How much sugar or sugar alcohol does the Boost have in it?  I'm not familiar with the stats on that one, sorry.  I sure wish I knew what to tell you!  Maybe call the doc's office and see what they can offer?   I SURE hope you get some answers!!!  ((((hugs))))  Feel better soon!!!

Topic: NEW ISSUES!!!????

Well i'm home recovering and low and behold i can't eat without spending 20 min in the bathroom. I'm drinking boost protien shakes but i get dumping syndrome from it. I eat anything aside from crackers and i get dumping syndrome. I don't know what to do anymore. I feel like giving up sometimes.

I'm now getting this after the dr has removed a large portion of my intestines. I wish i knew what to do. I want to get stronger and heal but i can't. All i'm living on is water and crakers. What more can i do. I don't know anymore. I"m on phase 5 of the gastric by-pass diet but getting nowhere.

If anyone out there can help PLEASE I NEED  IT. I'm at wits end here and weak.

Thank you in advance for anyone who can help me.

I have HP and they approved my RNY in 72 hours.  I only had osteoarthritis, high BP and High Choles for my Co mordities. They also approved my panniculectomy right away after i had stabalized my weight for one year and had lost more than 100 lbs.

Here is my favorite sweet snack espcially good around the holidays.  I think it was a weigh****chers recipe.

Pumpkin Fluff
1 can Pumpkin Pie filling
1 tub fat free sugar free coolwhip
1 package fat free sugar free vanilla pudding
(and whatever amount of skim milk it calls for)
And then just add spices to taste
Nutmeg
Cinnamon
AllSpice

You can also add a little splenda if you like it sweeter.  I just prefer it without.

Mix it all together and let chill for 3 hours and BAM your good.  ITs soooo good.  I think 1 cup is 2 or 3 points in WW, but I could barely eat a cup before the band because its so rich!

Enjoy!

Does anyone have HP? If you do what are your experiences and comorbid conditions? Did you need any if you have a very high BMI? I am starting my journey all over again with a NEW insurance company!

Glad you are on the mend, remember though you need the protein to help heal those wounds!  Can I bring you some? I know you don't have protein powder around anymore.

Im recovering but its slow. this is the first open surgery i have had, aside from c-sections. This just seems to take longer to get over. I'm weak sore and tired I don't know how much was taken out or how long i will have the g-tube. I'm sick of surgeries already. I think i will by p[ass the fixing of my stomach and thighs for sometime now. I'm sick of being sick and in the hospital. as it is i'm afraid to call the surgeon with questions for fear that he might tell me that i have to be readmitted and i can't take being away from my family.

If anyone out there knows of someone who went through all of this i would really appreciate a message on information about all this. Im finding it hard to eat again. Im nervous about the g-tube. how will it come out? Does it mean i need more surgery?  I hope not.

Thank you for all the prayers and thoughts through all of this.
