Topic: Update
It has been a while since I have posted anything here. To catch you all up, I am currently looking for work and a new home.  I am 14 months out and have lost 207 pounds. I have gone from a 34 plus size to a size 22. I am feeling great. Walking has become routine. I look forward to trying out some cross country skiing and ice skating this winter. I am in great spirits and continue to make progress with my weight loss.  My only complaint on side effects from my rny is GAS. Does it ever, ever go away?  I try not to eat foods that cause this nuisance as it gets really painful sometimes. Well I hope all of you are doing well and are having as good a journey as I am.  Take care all. Have a nice day.

Topic: Update on PS with before pictures
I am three weeks out from tummy tuck and thigh reduction as of tomorrow.  Things have gone fairly well.  I have ended up with an infection on the leg that I have had issue with since day one.  I still have a drain in that leg that is still draining quite a bit so it looks like it will be a while.  I have two small openings that are leaking foul smelling pus and fluid and have been put on antibiotics....NASTY!!!!  I go back to see the Dr. on Wednesday so hope I have more information then.  I have a feeling I got the infection from all the extra fluid in that leg.  When stitching me up the Dr said he nicked a small vein so I bleed a bit more in that leg from the start.  Sometimes that extra fluid can cause infection...we will see!  I have also posted my before pictures.  I have some after pictures but they are on a different camera and I am having issues downloading them.  I will get them posted soon.

Good for you! The 6 month diet isn't such a big deal since you will need to try and lose 10% of your body weight anyways. I didn't have the option of VGS but I read good things about it. It all comes down to whatever you feel most comfortable with.

Topic: Appointment today
I have a PCP appointment to get my referral to my Surgeon. I have a new insurance company and have been talking with my Members Service Rep and I am confident that I am going to be approved...may have to do 6 month supervised diet but thats all depends on how the Dr words my letter! Wish me luck...I am keeping my fingers crossed!

BTW...what are your thoughts about VSG?

Welcome back!  As Ruth said, the board is a little slow but maybe we can all change that!

Topic: why it's important to make OH friends
I started coming on here for support and knowledge for my lap band back in 2007/Nov, I met a woman who has been there with me thru thick and thin, we've talked almost daily for a few years and now almost weekly,  she and I had our lap band BOTH on April 21, 2008.  SHe has come to maine, and i get to meet her tomorrow.  She has been the only person who has been able to understand the stuggles i've gone thru.   with my band,  I thank OH for introducing us.  I have met many friends here, most with RNY, they have been great and I've met most of them.  But this is MY GIRL>..  doing a harbour tour and portland trolley tour with her tomorrow.  keep in touch with your friends, you will need them.

Hi Cassidy!
Welcome back to Maine!  This board is quite a bit slower than it used to be, but STILL a good bunch of people around!
Welcome back!
