abdominoplasty?

Hi guys, Ok! I had my gastric bypass 8/2003 and have lost 150lbs.. I was 360 and down to 210lbs. I just had my last baby 12/21/2005. I wanted to have a tummy tuck done and I have mainecare for insurance right now. I found if very hard to find a plastic surgeon to do it even when mainecare said they would pay for it. I finally got a referral to a general surgeon (dr ben russell - portland surgical associates). I had my consult on April 24 and I just got a call today and it was approved and I am going on May 16 ( 8 days away). Now I am so nervous. Has anyone heard of this surgeon? Or heard if there is a difference between plastic surgeon and general surgeon doing this? He said I would be in the hospital for a week. Jen

Hi Jen, I will be having my bariatric surgery next month. I have friends that are on Mainecare and they were denied. Not medically necessary. How were you able to get yours approved? I think that its' great that you were able to reach your goal. I just hope that I can reach mine. I am 305. I have lost 14 lb. No sugar in my house and no fat either. I look forward to hearing from you. Sorry that I have heard of this surgeon. I am in the Northern section. 8-1
