I need support!
Mindy,
I remember those first couple of weeks after surgery...I asked myself several times "why did I do this?" I had lap RNY with Dr. Toder in Bangor and was on liquids for 2 weeks. I seriously didn't think I would make it through the liquid stage---especially after the first week. The first 2-3 weeks are the hardest, then it gets easier, I promise! I am now almost 3 years out and am thankful everyday that I was able to have the surgery. Hang in there and if you need anything, feel free to drop me an email and I will do my best to help.
Jill
I know what that is like Mindy. It really is a rough time but just remember, each day gets better. Remind yourself why you decided to go take this journey. FOR YOURSELF! FOR YOUR HEALTH! FOR YOUR FAMILY!
The first month is the roughest. I'm 7 1/2 weeks out now and it is alot easier. Oh I won't deny it, somedays are still harder than other days but if you have family or friends helping you and they are not living with you, call them. Ask them to be your support and call you everyday with encouragement. I have a wonderful daughter and husband whom I can rely on everyday for support and encouragement. If you have no one write me! Get into a support group for WLS people and go as often as you can for the support you need. Walk whenever possible, especially now that the days are getting warmer as we head into early SPRING. I am now exercising everyday and doing aquatic exercises at the Y 1-3 times a week. Try changing what you eat too after the first 2 weeks. There are options on your list that was given you after surgery and also in your blue notebook if you went through EMMC in Bangor Maine. I had Gastric Bypass OPEN with Dr. CLOUGH. Good Luck Dear. Keep in touch. Praying for you. LONI
