I just have to share...

AAAAHHHH....I am new to this board, but not to the site. I have been gathering information since August of last year and I love the amount of support and info there is on this website. I am scheduled for gastric bypass on May 15th, and was just told that Aetna will have their decision for me by the end of TODAY or tomorrow morning. I am excited, scared, nervous, and encouraged. I didn't expect an answer so quickly! Just had to share my nerves with others who know what I'm going through! Thanks! Kelley

Hey Kelley, I hope the news is good! I just got denied but I plan to write a letter of appeal. My insurance required me to see my PCP for 12 months...I've done all the beforehand testing...I'm not quitting now!! C/

I wish you much Luck and many prayers dear. My surgery happened so fast I was in total shock. Not much time to sit back and worry. I just left everything up to the Lord. On the days I did worry I got extra needed support from my oldest daughter and husband encouraging me and reminded me why I wanted this in the first place. I also went to OH alot and went to every support group meeting I could before surgery at my hospital. I'm on the other side now and 25 pounds lighter since Feb 17th Gastric Bypass OPEN with Dr. Clough at EMMC in Bangor. I'm 32 pounds lighter since I started the program Nov. 4th 2005. I'm so excited and happy everytime I get compliments from my husband and daughter and friends or try on clothes in my closet that have never fit or haven't fit for a very long time. I feel so good too and energized everytime I go walking or go to my aquatic exercise class. I get down days where I will plateau with my weight loss or I just feel fat that day and my DH is always right there to encourage me again or my oldest daughter will call and encourage me as well. The first month is the toughest after surgery but then it gets easier and easier and you will look and feel better everyday! If you need to talk or ask questions just write me.
