Don't know when to stop 1-1/2 months post operation.
Help, I have a problem with when to stop eating. I know it says to stop when I feel full. The problem is that I don't feel full until one tiny bite makes me feel horrible; as if I swallowed a bowling ball. It is very painful and uncomfortable. It can last for more than 3 hours sometimes and I can't swallow anything without making it worse. I feel full of gas and take some Gas X but it doesn't always help. I am miserable. I haven't vomited or regurgitated at all.
Hi Sharon,
You may want to look at how much you have eaten when have taken that last mouthful and make sure that you eat less than that......I know from experience (2 years 7 months post op) that sounds easier than it is.......I have found that after I have taken that mouthful that has made me feel sick that if I lay down for approximately 30 minutes then I feel better otherwise the feeling stays for 3 to 4 hours.......also recently I have found that if I suck on a peppermint that relieves the feeling in my stomach - you may not be able to tolerate that at this early stage..........
Hope this is helpful
Marcia
Thank you Marcia,
After saying that I have never vomited I did about 2 hours after eating. Not very much, maybe just a teaspoonful but I felt a lot better afterwards. I really haven't been eating much at all. I find that all the liquids makes me feel not want to eat. I discovered diet v-8 splash 10 calories for 8 ounces and have been drinking that, a smoothie of OJ and yogurt 12 oz, my protein drink 50 grams protein 200 calories 12oz, water and tea. Today I went out with a friend and I went to RBs and ordered a regular roast beed sandwich and ate about a tenth of the meat and none of the roll.
