Hurting
I called the nurse at the bariatric center today because one of the incisions is still very painful after 2 weeks. It feels hard and is very sensitive to touch. I was told that a cyst had probably formed and it would dissolve eventually but to keep an eye on the area in case it got hot, inflammed, or I started running a fever. I asked if this was a normal occurrence and she said it wasn't normal but did occur at times and was not a problem as long as it didn't become infected.
I finally found out the name of the medication that I was allergic to. The hospital records only listed one antibiotic Moxifloxcin and I couldn't find out if it was the one that gave me hives or the one that they replaced it with. I finally asked the nurse and she found it on my records. I'm allergic to Cephalosporin. I don't know why the hospital didn't have the information. I had called the doctor's office and the hospital faxed my records but there was no record of the Cephalosporin ever being given to me.
Hi Sharron,
If they told yu you may have a cyst and it wasn't normal I would go to the doctor or the emergency room. Don't let them mess with you we all have had major surgery and complacations can become serious. I was told over the phone by the on call doctor I could have a leak because of certian pains I was having and he told me to wait till the next day to call again. Forget that I was at the emergency room in 20 minutes. I was checked and everything was okay. If you have a problem that you shouldn't have then make them see you. Let me know how things are.

HI sharon,
I 100% agree with lisa...this is your body...dont mess around if something doesnt feel right get piece of mind and go to the emergency room or your drs and have them look at you and tell you everything is ok. your body is nothing to mess with. We went thru major surgery to make our bodies healthier and dont let anything get in your way. If it is nothing werious you know you have been checked by someone not someone on the phone who hasnt seen you. let me know if there is anything I can help you with. how did your christmas go?? let me know laurie
I am not really concerned about the pain anymore. It is getting better and I am feeling less pain. I have had a problem with a feeling of fullness up into my throat but am keeping everything down so there is not an obvious stricture. I have trouble taking my medications and found that peanut butter helped them slide down.
Christmas was great. I made a turkey dinner ( just the breast) for my husband and he enjoyed it. I made two individual mince pies for him that he loves. I had some mashed sweet potato, some squash, gravy, dressing, and turkey that tasted great. Didn't eat much but is was good.
My husband bought me a velveteen jogging suit for my birthday. It is a large and fits so I am out of extra large and heading toward medium.
Thanks for you support.
Sharon
