Treading slowly

The morning after I came home from the hospital (Dec 9th) I fell and sprained my foot. It is very colorful, swollen, and sore. I was sitting down and when I stood up my leg didn't support me. It had "gone to sleep" and it was like it wasn't there. I was lucky that the wastepaper basket broke my fall so that I didn't do any harm to my incisions. I have a tread mill and had been doing at least 1/2 hour on it at a fat burning pace. Since the sprain I have had to break up the sessions into 15 minute periods and have had to slow down and not use the incline. My GP told me to take it easy on the foot but I know that I need to move. I am going to my counselor today. I need to vent about the lousy hospital treatment and my husband, whom I dearly love, but is being a bit of a pain by asking "Do you want some of this? (Candy, Ice Cream, etc.) and then saying, "Oh, that's right you can't have it" I spoke to the nutritionist today. I wanted to know how many calories I should be eating/drinking and she said to try to stay at around 300. My protein drink is 200 so that leaves little room for juice or milk. She did say that I could count Jell-o as a liquid. I hate water and Crystal light and the flavored waters are way too sweet. Herbal teas aren't bad but fruit juices are loaded with calories. V-8 juice seems a good choice.
