My info from Maine Medical Center suggest that my support person stay with me the first night following sugery. What accomodations are provided for that person?

I would ask the hospital, probably a roll awy bed with bedding. But ask them to be on the safe side. You are lucky that your support person can stay with you. Had my at SMMC and they refused.

I am having my surgery at Maine Medical Center December 7th. The bariatric center insists that each person having surgery have a support person,(spouse, sibling, or friend) who goes to all meetings with the doctor, nutritionist, and support meetings .(You have to attend at least one support meeting where you meet other people who are going to have surgery and those that have had surgery and exchange thoughts, concerns, and learn from others) Your support person must be with you the day of surgery and the wants that person stay with you the night following surgery

My support person is my husband. I also have some very good friends who are there 100% for me as well as a therapist (required by program)who has been a big help in getting me to think more about myself and work through problems related to my father's dementia and nursing home placement. A couple, who are very close friends, have offered to stay in our house and care for our animals (1 dog, 2 cats) so that my husband will be free to stay with me. Another friend has offered to visit my father so that he will not be upset at having no visitors. I guess my main concern now is whether I will be able to remember to drink. I have a tendency to get involved in something and forget about eating and drinking.
