denied

I just got off the phone with my insurance company and they have informed me that I have been denied because the surgery is not covered by my insurance company and even if the review board says that it is medically necessary and approves it the insurance plan will not pay for it. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing. I asked if I could appeal it and she said that it would not make any difference benefit plan management does not pay for weight loss surgery. Any help out there would be appreciated. I'm very depressed about the entire thing.

I have Benefit Plan Management through my employer, I am hoping to have RNY.

Hi Doreen. Can you talk to someone from the Human Resourses Dept at your job? I found that they were very helpful helping me with my insurance company. Best of luck. Kim
