I have off and on been having problems with low blood sugar. Recently is has become severe. It has been making me so sick. I went to an Endocrinologist 2 weeks ago and he had me come in for a fasting Glucose Tolerance Test. At the 2 hour mark my blood sugar was 36. He is very concerned with this and very surprised that I haven't been passing out all the time. I have learned to not drive or do anything dangerous if I don't feel well. I sometimes have to sleep off the bad feelings. I am now going to a nutritionist to see if we can get this straightened out through Diet. I have 3 months to do so. If not then I will be placed on some medication to see if it can be controlled better that way. I am just shy of 2 years since surgery. I can't believe what a GREAT 2 years this has been. I am still losing but very very slowly. I am down to 165 lbs and can do so much more then I could ever do in my life. I am getting ready for plastic this fall. I will have my tummy done, and my arms will be done but I will have to pay for the arms out of pocket which will be so worth it. Good luck to every one and I pray the next two years are just as great.

Hi Pam-I was just thinking about you the other day. Glad to hear you are still doing well. Sorry about the blood sugar thing. You may want to post this ? on the main board. There are many long termers there. I'm in the process of looking at getting some plastics also. I had hope to lose more weight, but it just ain't happening. Oh well--I feel great.

Hi Pammie, I have had the problem of low blood sugar for over a year now. I went from insulant resistant to having low blood sugar. I now carry glucose tablet with me everywhere and have a glucose meter now and any time I feel bad I test, I have had a blood sugar of 32. My sugar drops when I eat to many carbs or exerscie and don't have an carbs afterwards. I did post a warning about this problem right after I was dianosed with low blood sugar. I wonder if before surgery if you where insulant resistant too. This is when your body makes to much insulant and ends up storing it in your fat. So as you loss weight after surgery you are burning your fat off and are releasing more insulant into your system then what you need so your sugar leave drops to much. Plus your body is still makeing the high leave of insulant that is was before sugery and you dopn't have the fat to store it in any more so it goes right into your system. Hope this helps some. you looking great. Jennifer Stanley

Hello ladies and thanks for the replys. Sorry I'm so slow gettign back to the boards. Things have been really busy lately. Work is going awesome! I have applied for another job in the same company. I have applied to be a Secretary for a group of Psychiatirist. (crossing fingers). I am doing better with the blood sugar now that I am seeing a Dietition and testing often. She is looking at what I eat and the levels of glucose to see what needs to be changed or touched up a bit. Dr Aslam is retiring at the end of June and he said he is going to try to still see his Follow-up patients which Im hoping will happen. There have been alot of changes in my life. Some good Some bad. I am dealing with them though. Some are things I never expected to have happen. My marriage is in trouble. They told us about this at the Meetings, but I never thought it would happen to us. Well it has. I don't know if it can be fixed or not, but I am willing to give it a good try. I just hope he's willing to wait for me to get myself straight. Good luck to you both and My prayers are with you. Stay healthy and be well. Pammie
