Hello EveryBody!! This is Janet doing a roll call for the state of Maine. This message board is almost like a ghost town most days and I just wanted to hear from all you beautiful Mainers out there. My day started with a visit to my hypnotherapist at 9:am. I've been seeing Cherly Rubin at "The Center for Creative Change" in Ellsworth Maine. I find it a key tool on the road to a healthier life style change. I still haven't gotten a surgery date but I know that surgery alone is not the answer, well not for me. I have been seeing Cherly for a little while now and I know that I'm getting mentaly ready for this big life change that is to come. I came home to do laundry and some house cleaning, like most days. I'm on disability because of health reasons, so most of my days are spent trying to keep moving and not eating, LOL I will be in and out for the rest of the day checking and answering all of your replys, and I truly hope to hear from all you wonderful people out there. Come on Maners let me hear from you!!! God Bless Janet

Hi Janet! This board IS like a ghost town! It gets so that I check the main messageboard daily but only check this state of Maine one every couple days because there is no activity. I had lapband surgery a week ago along with the removal of a very bad gallbladder. I honestly am doing great. I got out a number of times today to enjoy the wonderful weather this afternoon and am so stoked that the forecast for the rest of the week is going to be good also. Took a walk on the YMCA track today and made it about a half mile. That is pretty good for me since I suffer from acute arthritis in my knees. Jumped on the riding lawnmower to do the yard but I can't say my new incisions enjoyed that quite as much. Getting stronger every day and I celebrated that even though I haven't been able to take my bp medicine since surgery, today was the best bp reading it's been in 6 months. I look forward to new progress each day and am enjoying seeing the scale marker drop lower and lower. Have a great evening and hope you enjoyed your day! Take care! Judy

Ha Judy Wonderful to hear your starting to get back into the swing of things Good for you I just Loved, Loved, Loved this day! Goodness, I thought it would never stop raining. I dislike having April showers in May but what can you do after all we do live in the best state in the country Guess we have to take the good with the bad. I know this place is a ghost town but I am praying that more people like us will keep it alive. I am going to see at my support group meeting if I can let others know about this web site and tell them about our very own message board. Mybe we can start a nightly chat and Q/A going in here. Would be nice My good friend Paula is on her 5 day count down to surgery and I am hopeing that we can all send her our support and love in the days to come. Thank you so much for your reply and please lets keep in touch. Hope you have a great evening as well and an even better day tomorrow. Janet

Hey Girlfriend. I was glad to hear from you in your post to me today. Yup the count down is on day 5..woohoo!!! Did my pre-ops today and can't wait for Friday when they call me to let me know the time for Mondays surgery. I will be thinking of you Janet as I go from this side to the wonderful losers side of my new life. I am finally excited.. Hang in there and you will be joining us soon. Maybe we should set a time so that we can chat on here before I go into the hospital... after all I will need something to do to take Saturday and Sunday off my mind..Just liquids on Saturday and only clear liquids on Sunday plus the nice bowel prep stuff to take. What about giving me a time and day? I will be here! Till then Paula

Ha Girlfriend!! Always good to hear from you Glad everything went well today for you Qestions? Do they pick the time for surgery or do you let them know what times are best for you? How long will you be in the hospital? I know silly questions but I was just wondering. I am sooooooooooooooo Happy, Happy, Happy for you. I can drop in whatever time is good for you Paula, you set the time and I will be there after all this is your time. I am more then willing to do whatever it takes to keep you smiling all weekend I heard about that flush medication really is a craper I hear tell and if your can get you butt off the potie long enought to chat with me on Sat and Sun it will be great. Please let me know what time is best for you because lord knows I have all day to chat on line if you leave it up to me. As you already know I'm on disability and time is something I have way too much of, . I'm almost done with school and my sweet older sister(by one year) is going to pay for my last two class. Then I'm off to study for my state board test for Social Worker. Reason being is that Disability has me on a two year waiting list for financial assistance and they are the only ones that can help me. I'm praying that I will be able to have this surgery before I start working because I would love to start a new job without all the health issues I have now. I'm on my way to (www.pogo.com) it is a game site for people of all ages. I like playing card games and backgammon as well as this new game called Lottso. I spend a lot of hours in there chating and playing, there are also big cash prizes to win in the many games jackpots. However, I've been playing at that sit for five years and all I've ever won is screen savers and wall paper for my computer. If you get a chance come check it out it is free for most games. You'll have to pick a screen and and if you do let me know so I can put it into my friends list and find you whenever you are there. O and by the way my screen name is Backup2mybumper. Long story will tell you this weekend if you like, Sorry it has taken me so long to repy but I had to run out for a bit. Will check to see for your answer all night, going to be in and out from here to pogo for the rest of the night. Janet

Hi everyone Am new to this board and a bit shy...he he I have the lap band surgery scheduled with Dr. Toder for this coming Thursday. I met a dear friend of mine for coffee today and was totally shocked when he said...so one week from today? YIKES!!! I am so excited and a bit nervous too! So with just a week away, I figure it was time to get my butt in gear and join the chat group. Glad to see that there are some folks on here from Maine! Shannon
