Is anyone on thyroid medication? I have been diagnoised with an underactive thyroid. My Doctor put me on medication. I'm hoping that wont slow down my process with the insurance company. Has anyone had a similar experience?

i have been on leverthroid for years because of in active thyroid last year i had a bout with thyroid cancer and they had to kill the thryroid . that is another reason why the insurance covered me having the surgery because i could not lose the weight with the messed up thyroid i am doing fine i am 3.5 months out stated with 200 pounds and now down to 155lbs and down a total of 49 inches overall so yea it doesnt slow the process at least i dont think so ... my weight loss is a little slower because i wasnt really big to start with and the dr told me the bigger you are the faster you lose at the beginning best of luck to you when is your date ? keep us posted debby 200/155/110 hopefully

Thank you Debby! I hope that is the case with me. I am afraid that the insurance company will say that now that I'm taking thyroid medication I should be able to lose weight without the surgery. I'll be on pins and needles until I have approval and a date. I am scheduled for a ultrasound on my gall bladder next week and am waiting for my second appointment with my surgeon. So that's where I am in the process.
