A QUESTION FOR WLS CANDIATES
HI MY NAME IS REBECCA.
I HAVE HAD MY 1 ST VISIT WITH THE SURGEON...I HAVE SEEN THE DIETICIAN, DONE BLOOD WORK, DONE THE HEART TEST....I HAVE SCHEDULED THE PHYSC. EVEL FOR APRIL 12. I SEE DIETIAN AGAIN APRIL13 AND GO TO SUPPORT GROUP MEETING THAT NIGHT.
DIETICAIN AN SURGEON SAID THEY REQUIRE A 10% WEIGHT LOSS BEFORE THE SURGERY CAN BE SCHEDULED....THAT'S 30 LBS .....CAN YOU TELL ME IF THIS IS NORMAL PRACTICE? DOES EVERYONE HAVE TO LOOSE WEIGHT...ALSO CAN YOU TELL FROM START TO FINISH HOW LONG IT TYPICALY TAKES TO GET THE SURGERY?
Congratulations on your progress so far! You have made a wonderful decision!
My entire journey, from calling the surgeon to actual surgery, was about a year long. But it wasn't long after the physc. eval, dietician, etc. that my surgery was scheduled. My surgeon did not require me to lose any weight before surgery, but my weight was only 261, so I'm not sure if that played a part in it or not. Good luck on your journey and if you have any questions, please feel free to email me!
