Still trying
Hi, Paula here and I am still trying to get a weight loss surgery. At this point I don't care which one I get as long as I can finally have it done. I have medicare and AARP for the supplement ins. so has anyone out there had the WLS with medicare insurance? If so how well did they pay and how long before they approved. Heard that they will pay if you have the gastricbypass, and know that at this time they are not paying for the band surgery.
Went to my primary care doctor today and he has said he would most certainly help me as much as possible, to get him the surgeons name and he will send in a recomendation..He did ask about Surgeons in the Lewiston area..has anyone had WLS in the Lewiston area and also had medicare?
Sorry If it seems I am stuck on this one item, but as you all know if I can't get past the Medicare paying them I am out of luck and I do desperately want to have the WLS and get healthy!@!
Any advice is welcome!
Thanks in advance
Paula
Hi Paula,
I'm not sure about medicare covering the surgery, but I do know people that have medicaid and got the surgery covered.
As for a surgeon in the Lewiston Area. I have Dr. D'Augustine. He is among the best. He is teriffic with obese people, doesn't make you feel like you've failed. I guess what I'm trying to say is that he is a very understand, compassionate Man and does not judge anyone.
I hope that this helps you.
