Hello! Found this site today by accident! What good luck! I am seriously trying to get information on lap band surgery from folks who have already been thru it(thoughts/pros and cons/problems), and wondered if anyone knows of surgeons in Southern Maine doing the procedure. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Cathy, I had open RNY in Bangor with Dr. Clough. From start to finish their programs takes about 6 months +/-. So I can't help with the lap band aspect of your question, although this is offered in Bangor as well with a different surgeon in their 4 surgeon team. In Southern Maine you would want to find Dr. Cobean for surgery. Not sure if he has some associates to get things done sooner. And I don't keep up with other areas offerings but it's possible they have the lapband down that way. Check your local yellow pages in the surgeon section and start making calls. Their may be new places popped up by now that I haven't heard of. Wish you luck! Casey

Thanks for your reply. I have actually spoken with Cobean. He unfortunately does not do the lapband.......apparently no one in southern Maine does, so I likely will need to go to Augusta.
