wishing for operation

I read alot of poeples messages and still nervious. I'm going for first talk with Dr. Aslam on Jan.27th 2005. I like to know more of how it is after surgery? The do's and not's. This is new but believe me I would like to be able to be me again. I've missed out of things But i'm a fighter.I am to be using the wheelchair but tried.I hated it. I use the canes and crutchs.I've been over weight for years.Then it didn't help when I was a truck driver and got hurt.(the knee) I tried all kinds of diets but nothing.I joined and did P.T. in pool ect.. My knee and weight won't let me .But after reading few I can't wait to see the doctor or hear from you all. Well wish me luck. I got to go feed my deer and emu's,farm yard animals people donated.My family helps me doing this.I love my animals i'm my own vet. saves money.But my animals are my therapy.Well i hope i didn't bore you all. later folks. kim i was very nervous when i started all of this also but the pros defiinatly overweight the cons no pun intended i am going for mine on jan 18th with dr daugustine in lewiston maine he is very good dr ,, i think for me the quality of the life will deffinatly be worth the little pain that you have after the surgery ... best of luck too you on your journey keep me posted on what you decide we are all in this together debby

I wish you luck and prayers.I've been reading up on all kinds of operations .I guess ,I like to hear from real people and even though everone is different it feels good to see.I guess my om words to me are exspect the worst even though it maybe be nothing.I have my faith but i'm a wondering fool.I like to know how it is after these types of operations.Will it be like this after you get to your weight.I guess i'll ask dr. this month.I can't wait for it.I'm going to get my vows redone this fall coming but in a regular size dress.I'm dreaming on good but I know time is it.I can wait.I've been waiting all these years. Kim, Good luck with your upcoming appointment with Dr. Aslam. I had an open RNY with him about 20 months ago. It was the best thing I could have done for myself. I was having problems with my knees as well and was looking at complete knee replacements if I didn't do something about the weight.
