Could someone of you tell me about your experience? I am due for surgery in Dec or Jan I am 28 years old and have a 3 year old little girl. My mother is having a hard time with me having the surgery and she thinks it is way to dangerous. I have done my research and I havent found out alot about the down sides of it. I have seen a couple shows on T.V and for some people it is a nightmare!! Dr. Phil is going to talk about it on Friday and I am excited to see what he has to say but I would like to get some info from you guys Thanks

Well, when I was 25 I was scheduled to have the surgery. 3 days before my surgery, I found out I was pregnant (after being married for 8 years)! So, the surgery was off, which made my Mom VERY happy. She did not approve at all, so I never pursued it after that. Well, here I am, 15 years later and 3 1/2 months post op, -61 pounds and I am SOOOO happy I had the surgery. My Mom is even happy for me, after watching me struggle for another 15 years, I guess she finally saw that it was the best option for me. I know some people have horrible experiences, but mine was awesome! I had a very quick recovery. No pain meds after coming home. I was back driving & shopping 9 days post op and back at work after less than 4 weeks! It's the best thing I've ever done for myself and my family! Next summer I can go to the amusement parks (we travel all over just for this) and not be embarrassed because I can't go on the rides with my family! I am much happier and healthier and I know that it shows in everything I do! I encourage anyone who is thinking about WLS to GO FOR IT! But, do your homework too! Learn ALL that you can! KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! Good luc****ep me posted! Kim 261/200/130
