Your opinion about S.M.M.C. ...............
Good Morning, I have a question for any of you who had your surgery at S.M.M.C. I am "waiting" for my approval from my insurance company. Keeping my fingers crossed, Dr. Georgitis will be performing my open gastric bypass. I have no reservations about his proffessionalism. I feel very confident that he is a good doctor. It's the stay int he hospital that has me a tweak concearned. My mothers stay was at S.M.M.C, and a few of those nurses in there left something to be desired. I understand everyone has bad days and all........... but what are the odds they all had them during her stay? I would be gratefull for feedback, be it good bad or both. I would just like to know what to brace myself for.
With much thanks,
Tracy
Dr. Carroll did my surgery in July at SMMC, and I liked everyone there. Everyone was very pleasant, even when I wasnt. I enjoyed my stay there, and the ppl made me feel very comfortable. I had started my monthly when I was in there and all the nurses were very undrstanding, since I could hardly walk at that time. I know you will be fine with your stay there as well.
Good luck!

I had my surgery on 8/19 and had a great experience. No problems with nurses only a couple of CNAs. The 3rd floor (which is where you'll be) is great. Dr. G and Brandy are great too. I had NO staples !!
The support at SMMC is great for a fairly new program. Make sure you attend the support group meetings post-op with Claudia Sullivan, you'll love them.
One love, KJ
