Century Club
Hello: Last year at this time, I wondered will I be like others at support group meetings and really lose the weight after the surgery? Will I be approved? Will I live? Will I be successful? Well, the answer to these questions showed up on my scale over the weekend. I am now officially a member of the -100 pounds club! Yippee!!!! Can't believe it. I now have officially made the goal set by my surgeon, Dr. Michelle Toder(12/4/03) laposcopic. My goal is to lose an additional 34 pounds to meet the healthy requirements of my height. At 65 inches, I should weigh 138 to be in the healthy range and for once in my adulthood, I would like to have a BMI that is in the normal range. The weight has come off nicely, I mean in that I look smaller than I really am due to the fact I have been exercising, so it does matter a lot. I've had family and friends all say that I don't need to lose anymore--that maybe I've lost enough. I simply say thank you, and I'll be at a healthy weight with the extra 34 pounds off.
I know I cannot afford plastic surgery later on, so its important for me to "firm up" in order to avoid a lot of saggy skin. At age 51, that is a bit more difficult because our skin is not as taunt--but walking and Curves have helped a lot. I feel very lucky to have had this chance at living this way--a much healthier, quality life filled with more choices and possibilities--its a new sense of freedom and joy that I've not felt in a long, long, long time. I am still me but much healthier!!!!!
Hope to see folks at the July 14th meeting!!!!
Humble and Happy
