Question...
I've been looking at before and after pictures anywhere that I can find them, I've checked out bypass websites, etc., and I'm still not able to get my question answered. lol
I carry most of my weight (368lbs) in my legs. I'm not able to wear strappy sandals or knee high boots and I have a hard time with pants that aren't big in the legs. My question is, after the surgery, do your legs go down like the rest of your body?? I know walking will help and I'm doing that now - but I am curious about post-op.
Thanks
My legs went down cept for my upper legs have not lost as fast but that is because I have not worked them that much.
My shoe size went down, my ring size went way down 4 sizes. So we lose all over, there is even a guy on the main message board that went from an XXL helmet to a meduim. That floored me!
Good luck!
Theresa
Hi Diana!
We are neighbors! I live in South Berwick and had surgery with Dr. Cobean July 28th 2003, after three years of researching him, as well as other bariatric programs. I think you have made a great choice! My surgery was totally uneventful and recovery was a breeze for me. As for body shaping, I started working out at Curves 4 weeks post-op, and after doing 3 days a week for about 4 weeks, I started working out 6 times a week - and I LOVE IT! Curves has enabled me to lose evenly all over my body, and I am almost afraid to admit it, but I am not having terrible problems with excess skin. I don't think I have age or super skin elasticity on my side either, because I am 47. I attribute it to CURVES! I was there in South Berwick working out each day they were open, and finally, last January, just 5 months after my surgery, the owner offered me a job working for her! I can't even believe my life - one year ago, I was 120 pounds overweight, out of breath getting my mail or walking up one flight of steps, and now I am a fitness instructor at a women's exercise facility - LIFE IS GOOD!
Do you go up to Dr. Cobean's support meetings? I went up on June 1st, were you there? We could car pool some time if you would like. I would love to meet you, talk to you or be an email buddy. I know when I started this journey, I truly appreciated those post-op's who took the time to talk to me, so I love to give back!
Take care, hope to talk to you soon!
Love,
Jo
