Weight Loss After Surgery Question
Hi All
Hope all of you are well. I am doing great since surgery and everything seems to be on track. I made the mistake of getting on the scale and was expecting a good drop in weight - when to my surprise it had not changed at all since my big weight loss of 25 pounds after two weeks out of surgery.
Okay everybody - what should I expect as far as weight loss is concerned? I called a friend and she told me that she had experienced a plateau soon after surgery and a few times during the first year. Has this happened to any of you? I guess I had assumed that there would be a steady weight loss every week after surgery. I guess I shouldn't have assumed....
I need to know what to expect. We had never discussed this portion with anyone prior to surgery. I have not weighed myself since and am waiting for my 6-week follow-up appointment with the Doctor to be weighed.
Your feedback would be appreciated.

Hi Nancy--My weight loss has come in spurts all along. I think I lost very little between 2 and 4 weeks. I was lucky because I didn't have a scale and could only weigh myself at doctor's appointments. The one thing I did notice is that when I wasn't losing weight--I was losing inches. I just had to keep telling myself that I was doing everything the doctor said and the weight would come off sooner or later. Congrats and good luck! Lynda ME/FL
Nancy,
Congrats on your weight loss thus far. Really amazing isn't it?
At first it's about a pound a day. Everyone is different though. Like a different starting weight etc. If you are walking and things like that.
I think you're right on now and just follow an exercise program in conjuction with eating/drinking right and you'll contintue to do well!
