Lost a patient?

Someone told me that a WLS patient passed away about a week ago shortly after surgery. Does anyone know any details? I love hearing about everyone's successes but also need to know about the other side of surgery in order for me to make an intelligent decision about having surgery. I would also like to say a prayer for the family. Pam

Hi Pam, Yes a patient did pass away. Not to seem insensitive but statistic say that 1 in 200 to 1 in 300 die. Often not a direct result of surgery but complications from other factors be it health or otherwise. I don't yet know the details of her dealth but I know her name is Shannon. You might be able to find her obituary on the Bangor Daily News website. Casey

I believe it was Shannon Lynne. She was 28 and had 5 small children.
