Whew! So glad 1 more year down.
Hi all,
Sorry I haven't posted in such a long time. I have tried to get on and respond, give support etc, when possible. Not as much as I'd have liked to though. This has been a busy couple of months.
Ya see, I decided I was "young enough" to handle 5 courses at Husson College...I WAS WRONG! I don't think I've gone to bed much before midnight since January, then getting up at 5 am to get my son ready for school and do some last minute cramming of homework etc. I realized, I'm NOT young enough for 5 classes.
Hell week is over, Final Exams are done. Told my son, "make sure you set your alarm, I'm sleeping in." He forgot...so I was up at 6 this morning to take him into school. Naturally I did the motherly thing, and gripped all the way to school about, being almost 17 and taking responsibility etc etc. Naturally he tuned me out after the first 5 minutes...well more like as soon as I opened my mouth. But, I felt better.
I parked so he could get out at school. He told me to wait a sec, & came around to the drivers side door, opened it, leaned in, gave me a big hug and said: " Mom, I love you, (with his arms still around me) but, your smaller than me...be carelful (jokingly of course)" I then reminded him of two very important facts: 1) I brought him into the world, I could take him out & 2) Dynomite comes in small packages. He snickered and kissed me, said "I love you skinny", and strutted up the walk to school.
It was a wonderful way to end finals week.
Hugs to all,
Cindy K.
Great post Cindy. I bet you did wonderful on your exams.
Your son sounds like a a good guy. My son is 12, we fight but he always comes up later and gives me a hug and still will not go to bed without giving me a kiss goodnight. Not sure how I will feel when he doens't care about that part anymore.
Let us know how well you did on your exams!
