Front and Center!!!
I love gardens like yours, it is a hidden treasure.
My trip was grand and after today I think I want to go back, but by myself!!! I am afraid it has been one of those days!
You are doing wonderful, 50lbs is great. Do not sell yourself short girly! I really enjoyed that meeting, I hope you did too.
Hope to see you more often.

Hey, first time poster here, but I have been following things for awhile. My name is Heidi, and I'm in the process of getting an appointment to see Dr. Toder for a lap-band procedure. Been to a bunch of support groups here in Bangor, so I can put some online pictures to real live people already! Everything has been coasting along quite nicely, no trip ups so far. I am very excited!
WoooHooo Fresh MEAT!!!
Nice to meet you Heidi! My mom-in-law is going for the lapband also, but in Augusta, I wish I could convince her to go to Bangor and with Dr Toder. The surgeons here know her history though and they are wonderful surgeons so I do not blame her.
If you are there on Friday when I am please introduce yourself. Of course I might look at you like I dont have a clue who you are but just remind me. I am afraid I am a bit slow to catch on.
Sounds like you really have your journey started. Good luck and please keep posting.
BTW, have you checked out the LapBand forum here on ObesityHelp? There are some wonderful people over there.

I'm still here, lurking. I am going to Bangor to the educational meeting (both lapband and gastric bypass) as well as my first support group meeting on May 12th.
I am so anxious to learn more about these procedures. Through my research, I am leaning more toward the lapband procedure.
Just wanted to touch bases with everyone and say HI!
Robin
That is wonderful! You are going to enjoy the meetings, I know I did. I would go to as many as I could if I were you. They really teach you a lot and get you ready for your journey.
I am glad you are still here with us, soon we will be able to encourage you along as you get your appointments and such.
Good luck!

I am here Theresa... I come and read the boards, but have not been posting much. I have been taking advantage of the nice weather that we are having, and have been riding my bike, walking etc. I have even gone roller skating and swimming with my girls. Something that I have not done in a very long time. I have lost 70 pounds, and 73 inches.... woo hoo.
Take care,
Heather
Hi!
I came home from the EMMC today. I had my surgery on Monday, May 3rd with Dr. Toder. She is so awesome. I am so glad she is my doctor. Everything is going very well- much better than I expected. I will be on a full liquid diet for two weeks. I see Dayna and Dr. Toder on the 18th. I can't believe I am on the other side!!!! I have tried to post before but I don't seem to get the knack of it. I have also have had a hard time with my profile. I guess I am not as computer savvy as I thought!!I won't be going tomorrow night for support group but I will go next Wednesday. I live in Orland and my daughter is here from Ohio to help me and she is leaving on Saturday. I want to spend as much time as I can with her. This message board has been so helpful for me. I hope I can learn to post regularly so I can be part of this wonderful and supportive group. I hope to meet you all someday. Suzanne C.
Congratulations! I wish I had felt that good at that early out.
If you need any help with your profile or anything to do with ObesityHelp.com let me know, I would be happy to help you. If I cant help you chances are I can find another staff member that can.
Have fun with your daughter and family!!!

I am here. Read these every day at least once but rarely post. I feel like the others have so much to say and I am still waiting for my last tests and then schedule surgery.
I am getting really anxious to have the surgery, have less second thoughts all the time. For one thing, I have learned a lot reading here. I even took notes like on what to do if food gets stuck in the new pouch and what might help with gas. I haven't read about Gas-X yet, that should help. I am very encouraged about the whole surgery and recovery and life after that. At this site I found out the protein really is important so started a protein drink now so I will have optimum requirements at surgery.
I have arthritis so am a little concerned about needing to move after surgery. I start my day slowly to get my joints going. I had to give up my NSAIDs and am taking Darvocet for pain and although it is less helpful it is getting me by.
I love your advice and sensible answers so welcome back and keep up the good work.
