Wow, that sounds amazing!!! Dr Clough never gave me a goal till my 6month check up. I always went by what Dayna gave me which is 140 and Dr Clough seconded it. I want to reach 135 though, so I can be in the B&A on the gallery page. A nice even loss of 100lbs sounds good to me. How tall are you? Yanno, you are too new of a post-op to be doing so well. What's up with that? Seriously, I am very happy for you, you are going to go far, no doubt in my mind you will hit what Lynn says, she is a conservative person. She rocks though! Thanks for posting, was wondering how things were with you! Theresa

Hello Theresa and all you wonderful folks! I have been a "lurker" for several months now while I watch, listen, and learn, and prepare myself for this new life. I started this process in January and have had all my appointments at the EMMC SWLP. I will be seeing Dr. Toder this Friday, May 7 and will get more info after that - hopefully, a date. I am still nervous, but mostly excited to finally feel well and have energy and not feel like I am dying an early death. I know this is the right decision for me - my anxiety comes from adjusting to everything new. This message board, though you don't know it, has given me such strength and courage. I feel like I know you all - Theresa, Casey, Kim, Ron, Cindy, and everyone. I am still a newbie, so I think it best to keep my mouth shut and my ears open, but I look forward to having the chance to give back. I have also been to 3 support groups and found them encouraging and educational - I've seen some of you there. You will be hearing from me more from now on, but I just want you to know what a difference you've made in my journey. Thanks, Susan L.

Susan you made my day!!! I am so glad you posted. Everyone has something to offer here on this board, pre-op and post-op alike. Support is the biggest boost a person can get (in my opinion). If you see me at another support group please come up and say hello, I really enjoy meeting other people. You will have your date soon! It is very exciting to get a date and then get ready and wonder what the next year will bring you. 2004 is definetly YOUR year! Please post often!!! Theresa

Hi Theresa, I am here--I check the board usually every night, but have been "right out straight" as you true Mainer's say (I'm from Indiana and we just say that we have been really busy ) and I haven't taken the time to reply or post. I'm glad you had a wonderful time in Florida--the week you were gone when I would read the paper in the morning I would look at the temps in Orlando and I think I cussed you more than once that week--but it was nice of you to bring some sunshine and warm temps back with you to share with all of us this past weekend. I picked up my new camper last Friday--it's all set up in the driveway--all packed up and everything just waiting on the weekend before Memorial Day to get here so I can do some real camping. I was so excited last weekend, that I ate dinner in it a couple of times, and even had a couple friends stop by! Take care! Jill

Hey! Congratulations on that camper, we were just like you when we got ours last year. In fact with each camper we have gotten (total 3) we were like that. There is just something so cool about a new camper. I guess thinking about the good times to come makes it dreamy or something. I would love it if you could come down to "OUR" campground sometime, though I know you prefer northern Maine. I hope we like having a seasonal but if not, we will be sure to check out northern Maine next summer. Glad to see you so happy and doing so well. I have found out that I CAN GO to the support group Friday night. Any chance will you be going? Hugss Theresa

Hey there! I'm back at work full-time, working out at EMH gym 3 times a week and walking the other 4 days. I feel GREAT and have lost almost 60 pounds in 9 weeks. It's wild that my body changes so fast. I'm very glad I decided to have the surgery. The pain I was experiencing pre-surgery is 95% gone and I am BP med-fee.. I've been here, but they saved TONS of stuff for me at work. LOL (Of course, I like that. LOL) They really like the "changing" me and continue to be very supportive. Best wishes to everyone! Kent

There you are Kent, Kel and I were just talking about you and Ron tonight on IM. We were wondering where you 2 had gotten to and when we would see you again. Great to hear you are doing so great, but then again, I KNEW you would. You have gusto and positive attitude, 2 things I swear by. I am sure your work missed you. It is nice to get back into a routine isnt it? Hope to see you at a support group soon! Theresa

I am here too, Theresa. I read the posts every day. Am getting slightly nervous about my surgery date of May 17th. Hope you all will say a prayer for me. I am not as nervous about the surgery (because I believe I have a very good surgeon) as I am about being alone after I come home from the hospital. I figured I would just take things slow and easy and hobble along as well as I can (I already have to walk with two canes). Wish me luck, please!! Dot

Hi there Dot! Wow, your surgery is just around the corner and you are right, you have a fantastic surgeon. I wish you were closer I would come on over and baby you. To be honest I think I would rather have been alone, but then again, I had 4 children, my mom and my hub at home with me. As good as they were, I would have liked more peace then I got. The first few days home are the roughest, but just take it easy and try to get in as much fluid as you can. Remember to walk as often as possible, but it doesn't have to be for long periods of time. After the first couple weeks it will get easy fast, you will be amazed! If you need to talk please let me know! Hang in there! Theresa

Hi Theresa, Wow I guess when you say front and center everyone listens huh? LOL. I am here, just been busy finding out what new things I have growing in my flower gardens. We just moved to our house in January and everything is starting to come up and the family and I are just having the time of our lives "playing" at our new place. Sometimes it is hard to come out of like when you don't go to church for awhile, it is hard to get back into the swing of things. Glad to hear everyone is doing so well. Your trip sounds like it was wonderful! Had my 3mo. meeting with Dayna and the group monday. I am 50 lbs down and encouraged to lose more. I thought I should have been down more than that, but I found that another lady was down around the same as me. I know everyone is different but.......... Val
