Front and Center!!!
I'm here and kicking!!
I didn't have any problems at all as far as pain. I would say for me it was more discomfort. I couldn't walk for days and couldn't feel my legs, myblood pressure was VERY low the day after surgery. BUT those are due to the Ataxia I have and is pretty normal. Dr. Clough told me that I bounced back way sooner then he had thought I would. I was suppose to stay 1 or 2 more days then normal, but Monday morning (had surgery the Friday before), Dr. Clough came in and left. The nurse came in right after and said he thought I should go home and would rest better in my own bed. I hate goodbye's but this was one goodbye that was right up my ally. My biggest problem was mobility but I got through it and am doing great. My hubby says he can't keep me home anymore..lol. I used to stay in the house 24/7. It's wonderful to feel so great!!

Hi,
I am here. I am waiting to hear from my insurance - but I'm not holding my breath. The paperwork was submitted on the 15th - 6 days after Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois made their requirements nearly impossible to meet. I don't know if anyone has read about them in the newspapers lately (Bangor Daily), but they are denying just about everyone. As a matter of fact, in January of 2005, many BCBS policies are going to drop weight loss surgery all together. Wish I would have stuck with it while I still had Aetna last year. Oh well.

Do not give up Amy, things are known to change!
ObesityHelp is getting actively involved with the fight to make coverage of WLS mandatory. We are getting on the fight in FL and many other states. It is very similar to the fight people put up here in Maine when MaineCare was going to stop covering WLS.
Never give up!!! We are here with you.
