This board is way to quiet lately, so I am hoping this post might help a bit. What I would like to do is have everyone, lurker, infrequent and frequent poster to reply to this thread. Just a simple "I am here" type of thing will do. If you would like to share more that would be wonderful. Lets see who is here and who we need to drag back to us. I AM HERE!!! Theresa

Hi Theresa You are right, things have gotten too quiet. I am feeling so many emotions at this time - my surgery is scheduled for this Friday at 9:45 a.m. It seems like it took so long to get to this point and now it seems like I'm in the fast forward mode. I'm trying to get so much done and don't seem to have enough time to do everything. I'm looking for details on what to expect immediately after surgery. Will I have alot of difficulty in getting around? and how long will it take for the pain to let go? How does it feel inside of you right after surgery? Do liquids go down easy? These may sound like silly questions to some, but I would like to know what to expect in the first two weeks I guess. Any advice I can get from anyone is so helpful. I am here waiting.... Nancy

I think all of those questions are pretty normal though I must say I never thought about how it feels inside before surgery. I was up and moving pretty soon after surgery. In fact they had to move me to a reg bed because the Bari bed was to big for me and it was extremely hard for me to get out of. I am only 5'2 and weighed 235 the day of surgery. The pain was bad I guess but only because I had a faulty Epi which it took them 2 days to figure out because I did not complain all that much about pain. After the pain of 3 c-sections I can tolerate just about anything. I had enough pain to take the pain killers for a few days after I got home and then when I wanted to be able to get completely comfortable to get some sleep for the next few days after that. Then I rebruised myself from sitting at a table leaning over for way to long and took the pain killers for a couple more days. They cause constipation which I had in a MAJOR way for months so I did not like using them. All went down fine in the hospital but by the time I got home I was miserable and nothing tasted good. The first 2 weeks really SUCK! But I promise it does get better. For me it too****il close to 5 weeks out when I started on a protein supplement (Unjury) to feel much better. Within a few days of starting it i was like 90% better. It was amazing. Protein helps promote healing, this I did not know before surgery. Dr Clough will tell you to do/eat what ever it takes to get you through the first 2 weeks. Dayna doesnt like that but it worked for me. Slowly you will get more water in and be able to eat easier. After a bit you might get sick of the food. I am not sure but do I heard that they keep post-ops on a liquid diet for a bit after surgery, I was on soft food when I left the hospital. I would like to know if the liquid rumor is true. Just take it slowly and remember we are here for you. If you need anything please feel free to contact me. If you want my phone number email and I will send it to you. Good luck!! Theresa 235/146/140?135

Hey Cindy! Glad to see you and thanks for the WB. We had a wonderful time but I was ready to come home. Sharing a bed with Amy was the pits. I had to sleep with her hair in my face or her knees in my back. Not much of an option there.
