Hi! You all told me the pounds would melt away but this is unreal! the first seven days after surgery and I had lost 20pnds. Casey, Heather, and Kelley thanks for the encouragement! I did have to go back to the hospital to have a fill up of three liters of there best IV fluids. Now I feel much better. I still can't fold laundry without making myself hurt though. I can walk 1/2 a mile without too much trouble. Of course I am trying to take it easy.... It has only been 10 days since surgery. I am not getting all of the protein I need and can't tell where to get more. I need about 60 grams and am only getting about 40 grams per day. Any Ideas? Can't wait till I can take a bath and go swimming! Thanks michelle

Hey Michelle, Congrats on your weight loss so far. It does just melt off. Sorry that you had to go back to the hospital, but I am sure you are doing better now. As for protein, I eat string cheese, lunch meat, shrimp, milk.. etc. I do sometimes use protein shakes when I don't think I am getting enough. Take care, Heather

CONGRATULATIONS MICHELLE!!! You are doing so great! At this point you shouldn't be doing too much around the house if you can get away with it. I was spoiled by my husband for weeks with him doing everything, I didn't want to do it again LOL. But it really got me to recovery smoothly and I think made things better all around. As far as protein, call Dayna for advice. She should be able to give you a personalized plan. When I went for my 2 week Dr Clough said I was all set to swim, just nothing too rigorus. A bath was ok right out of the hospital as long as the incision was in open air for a while after. I look forward to following your progress, you are off to a great start. Casey
