Received Approval from Insurance

Hi All Good News!! I called Dr. Clough's Office and found out that my insurance has authorized the surgery. I needed to send in a check for the portion that is not covered by the insurance. Believe me the check is in the mail... Now all I have to do is wait for a surgery date. I am so excited.... I can't wait. Nancy

Hi Robin I started the process in December 2003. My Primary Care Provider had made the referral in late November/early December. I had my educational meeting and support group first week of December. Then the appointments kinda followed every two weeks or so. I was really surprised that I was approved so quickly. CIGNA is usually a little more difficult to deal with. They received all the necessary paperwork from my PCP, me and Dr. Clough. I made sure I had everything I needed to send to the insurance company. I put all my eggs in one basket... Nancy

Nancy, That is great news! I'm so happy for you! My paperwork went out yesterday, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hope to see you at the support group meeting! Amy p.s. I spent the day at the hospital yesterday - as it turns out, I'm full of gallstones. They wanted to take it out, but said they'd wait a couple of weeks to see if the insurance is going to approve the bypass first. But, I'm on a seriously no-fat diet until then. Could be worse.
