Southern Maine Support

Is anyone out there interested in getting together some time as a group to talk, share stories, and just fellowship with other locals who have had weight loss surgery? I would be willing to plan an event if I knew people were interested in coming. Not necessarily a support group environment but more like a "family" get together. Time to meet and talk maybe have some board games or other activities? Anyone interested please let me know and give me some ideas. I attend a support group with several hundred people once a month and would like to have a less formal fun time meeting and talking with others who have had WLS.

YES, YES, and YES!!! I am interested.. I live close to Alfred (between Bidderford and Sanford) and have been looking for some support in this area. I did not have my surgery here so I don't have the network that most of you have...Please let me know if I can be of help...and please..keep me posted.. Maybe we could have a get to gether of sorts in a local park or something with a nature walk so we could get some exercise?? Its just a suggestion... Take care, sharon

Hey Teresa...I am definately interested...Although I live In Wiscasset I would be willing to drive if given enough notice....Can't guarantee I would be there all the time but it sounds like a really nice idea....Please let us all know your plans...I will e-mail you my number in case you want to talk or need any help. Hey Teresa! Sounds like a good idea. I stopped going to the big support group of Dr Cobean's because it was just tooo big! I would be interested if you do get something together!

HI Theresa, I would definately be interested. I live in Arundel. If you all decide you want an outdoor outing, In wells there is an awesome Wildlife reserve where my husband and I walk at least 3 times a week. Its very pretty and serene. There is a support group in Portland restarting again, but I was unable to make it to last nights meeting. So now I get to wait another month. My surgeon is in Augusta, and due to my work schedule it's very difficult to make it to the meeting. It starts at 5:00 so if I go I also have to miss some work and this is our busy season right now, so it makes it ever harder to go. Let me know when, where, and any details. Hugs, Pammie
