Thanks to all that have responded to my last post. Your some very helpful and informative people. Unfortunately EMMC is out of the question as my insurance(NOT GOOD) will only cover a short limb(100cm or less) and Dr. Clough will not do it any longer. I go see Dr. Jimenez may 17th and hope to have more answers then. Are there any people out there that have had this short limb procedure and how have you made out with it? My research show slower but simular results?? Thanks Lee

Lee, To tell you the the truth, I knew nothing about the short limb procedure until your post asking questions about it. But at any rate, I wish you the best in your journey!!!!!! Kell

Lee, Dr. Jimenez performs laproscopic bypasses - which I'm sorry to say is an entirely different five digit insurance code. You need to call his office, ask for the insurance code and contact your insurance company again. My insurance also has the same restrictions on limb length for an open surgery. However, the code for the lap procedure doesn't seem to have those restrictions - weird. If memory serves me correctly (and it usually doesn't serve me that well) the codes are I checked on were... 43846 - short limb (under 100cm bypassed) 43847 - long limb (over 100cm bypassed) 43659 - laparaoscopic (general stomach laparascopic procedure) Good luck and be persistent.
