I went to the meeting last night ,...... the informational one about the surgery. I brought my information packet back to the hopsital this morning all filled out. Just curious if you all know how long before someone from the Bypass Surgical Team Gets back to you about setting an appointment with the dietician and the other one. Thanks for your replies,. and Nice to meetcha, I just can't wait to be "on the other side" I am so ready to be a looser... :D Who wouldahthunk I would ever be saying THAT?

Welcome Tracy......Congratulations on your decision to become a "loser" ....I don't know what surgeon you plan on using but all of them have different ways of doing things....I have Dr.Aslam out of Augusta....I had to make all of my appointments for the dietician, psychologist, therapist, and whatever else was necessary....The only thing I didn't have to do was make the appointments for the bloodwork and tests, the office did that for me.....My whole process took 11months give or take a few weeks....I went for my first group consult(dr talked to a bunch of us) March 31, 2003....The only glitch I had was my psychiatrist never told me he didn't do the MMPI test(long and really boring test) so it set me back about a month cause I had to go to a psychologist for that....From reading alot of posts on here I noticed alot of people had their dietician, psychologist and therapist set up before they saw the surgeon just to cut down on how long they had to wait for the surgery and it helped with the decision from the insurance too....So this was my experience and I hope it helps...It isn't as bad as it sounds just a very tedious process....It is well worth it though...I am down 60lbs and I had my surgery on the 5th of February '04....Your life will change so much...For the good!!!! Any more questions please do not hesitate to contact me or anyone in this board....Helen K. 388/328 2/5/04
