Psych evaluation, Dr. Slotnick, So. Maine

Ok, I'm at a loss as to what to do. Basically I saw Slotnick 6/25/03 for pysch eval -- seemed to go fine I thought. Anthem is requiring from him evaluation to the effect in his words that I'm a good candidate for surgery. Nutritionist has complied and done the eval letter. He's not cooperating. He tells me last week that he wants me to have sessions with social worker (which I have had 1 already -- she says I'm ready for surgery). Give same message to him 4/6 and now he's "dictating" an addedum to what he and I and my surgeon's office agreed as a "course of action". Called psych's office 3X this week being told that "He'll dictate it this weekend" after they promised I'd have it by today at latest!! I've placed 2 calls to my surgeons office this week, they won't return my calls. I've called Anthem to complain about psychologist and list of other psych's to see. They're mailing me the list. How can he be so in control over my surgery? My surgeon, nutritionist and social worker are all for me scheduling my date, but w/out insurance approval, it's on hold for 6 wks now b/c of psych. Anyone else had this problem???????? What do I do next? One love, KJ

KJ, I was reading your post and I also live in Arundel. Wow this is so cool! I did have some problems with the Psych I saw too and I thought I would beat him. I called and he made promises, and never kept them. He is from South Portland. So I just kept bugging him and his secretary and told them how important this was for me to have done, and if he didn't get the info to me asap that I would contact another psych. (All this after having one Psych eval, where the Dr gave me complete approval, but did not do the MMPI testing, so it was all a waste of our time). Who is your surgeon?
