Hello everyone. I had the surgery in Nov/2003. It was actually during Thanksgiving. I've lost 50lbs as of February. I'm averaging 2lbs a week. I don't get checked again till may 5th. I'm afraid to get on a scale. I don't want to see it go up. anyone else feel that way?

Michelle, Welcome to the board. Did you have RNY? 50lbs is a good loss and a steady 2lbs a week is good too! Just do what you know you should and the scale shouldn't go up. It helps to be in a program that has support groups and a nutritionist, do you have that? I wish you well, Casey

Congratulations on the fantastic weight loss! Welcome to AMOS and the Maine State board, we are a great group here. Hope to see you post often!! I am afraid to get on the scale also, but I do almost everyday. If there is a day I ever gain I think I will toss it out the door. I think because in the end I failed all else I sometimes think I might fail this. Hugsss Theresa OpenRNY 7/15/03 235/152/140?135

Hi there.. I too am new to the site..but have 33 months post op under my belt.. Don't worry..if you are doing what you should you won't be gaining weight...but my advise is to not be glued to the scales anyway..just weigh like once a week or so..to ensure you are on the right tract. Take care, Sharon
