Journey
Hello All: Not posted in a while but wanted to share interesting moments in this journey. Thought I could eat a little Irish food Wednesday night--WRONG!! Not sure if it was the cabbage, the vegetables, or the cornbeef--let's just say it did not want to go down easily. Tonight, I tried a frozen dinner--one of those light ones. It had rice, chicken(had to look for it) carrots and pods. I recall hearing that some folks cannot tolerate rice--but I thouught--well, I seem to be able to eat everything--it won't bother me. It did!!!! Filled me up too quickly---yes did eat the chicken first--but was still hungry and tried to fill up with the rice. I did not get sick--but felt terrible for a while. And, let I bought some Pilots Grill Cheese(if you've had that--you'll understand) and some Wheat Thins and I can eat that combo!! It tastes wondeful---but I realize I like it too much--so when its gone, that will have to be it. I do love to exercise--really enjoy it. I have another month left at the rehab center on Union Street--I hope I can get used to another gym. Part of the aftercare at EMMC is that they offer post - op folks three months free at the rehab center on Union Street--located in the EMMC Mall.
I wanted to share some of my journey and share that even after many weeks of post op time and learning a lot---I can still make mistakes with food. This will be a lifelong journey I can see that right now. The good thing is, these lessons teach me to be humble--which gets me off my high horse. Anyway, things are moving along.
Hang in there!
Jane
Jane,
You are doing wonderful. I saw you at the last support group meeting and was going to come over and say hello, but you got out the door before I could catch you. Anyways, you look great and you have such a wonderful attitude about this journey.
I have heard so many good things about the rehab center on Union Street--I wish that I would have lived closer to Bangor so I could have taken advantage of the 3 free months there.
Keep up the good work!
Jill
