Good First post-op visit
Hi all,
I'm very pleased to report that things are going great for me.
Dayna was pleased with my eating and drinking liquids progress and the fact that so far (knock on wood), I am tolerating everything well (even though my first slice of canned peach tasted like hell). The 2 tablespoons of mashed potato were delicious after my 2 ounces of scallops. I loved dinner tonight and savored every filling bite. I am never hungry. Such a treat, and the nausea is minimal.
Dr. Clough was also very pleased with a 20 pound loss in 13 days. He was even more pleased with my 15 min walk each day. The staples are gone (just a pinch when they go), and I am healing well.
The issue with numbness in my legs was explained as a common pinched nerve which happens regularly when a patient has surgery and then is in bed for 3 or 4 days. He said it should be OK in 4 to 6 more weeks.
2 weeks down and a lifetime to go.
Kent
Hi Kent,
So glad to hear you are doing so very well . I'm sorry I didn't make it to visit with you in the hospital, but I needed to do some things with my mom. You were in my thoughts and I was glad to read from Ron that all had gone well with you.
It's great to hear you are doing so well with foods too. That was a bit scary for me, with hearing about dumping and the joys THAT brings. It is an experience that I still enjoy () once in a great while when I feel ****y & think I can handle a food that I KNOW I'm not supposed to eat. Oh well , the body sure brings you back to earth quick when you get too ****y that's for sure.
Can't wait to see you at the next meeting.
Hugs, Cindy K.
