Hi Anthony, Lynn will have you signed up to meet Dayna the nutritionist, see a PT and have a psyche test done. You may have to have a sleep study done and get an EKG but the EKG would be closer to surgery. After all these things are done then you will get a consultation date to see whichever surgeon you have chosen. After seeing the surgeon your info goes into insurance for approval. Once you get approval, surgey will be about 6 weeks or so from there. The entire process takes 6 to 9 months. The journey is long but very worth it. Good luck! Theresa

Hi Anthony, I think Bangor has the quickest program in the state. I am not sure. I know that southern Maine has a year waiting list or more. Take care, It will be here before you know it. ~Heather

There might be one in Waterville, but the thing is, it is better to go with the best place, even if there is a wait. I do know there is a place in Augusta, Brunswick, Lewiston and Portland also. The one in Augusta has about the same wait I believe. Portland has a 18 month wait. Not sure about the other places. If you were looking for LapBand there is a place in Augusta that the wait is not that long from what I remember. Theresa

When I was at a support group meeting in January Rose said the wait for surgery was down to 4 months. Which is the least amount of time to wait to have surgery in the state of maine.

If I went to a support group meeting on the next saturday from 1-3pm at EMMC would that count as my first meeting. I AM GOING TO THE aPRIL 2ND class, but I live in Deer Isle and it takes 1 and a half hours to drive home. I don't like driving at night. Just wondering.

As long as you signed the book saying you were there, that will count. Lynn will ask you if you went to one, just try to save the date so you can give it to her. Anything to make her life easier. To be honest I am not even sure where Deer Isle is. I do not get out much. :hide: Good luck! Theresa

Hi Anthony, Bangor is the fastest program in the state. It may seem like a long time now but it flies. I do understand where you are coming from but all good things come to those who wait. The best thing to do now is just follow the program and do things starting now that will help you reach a healthier lifestyle. The program is designed not only to educate you but to educate the program about you, if you get what I mean. As far as I know they are doing things a little differently now (I had surgery 9 months ago), so Lynn would be a good place to start when it comes to what you need to do before you're ready for surgery. Goodluck, Casey
