Some new questions for post-op women....
I was just wondering how many other women besides myslef, have had problems with menstrual cycles before WLS? I went 3 yrs with only having 1 cycle. I was only post-op 12 days and mother nature snuck up on me and kicked me in the butt!! very painfull and emotional.....any feedback would be helpfull!!
Thanks~Shannon
Hi Shannon...oh yeah i had the same problem...never was regular and never knew when they were coming i could go months at a time without one and the next month after my surgery there it was...and has been everymonth since...altho im still not on a regular date for it to hit yet because things are still adjusting themselves in there. I also have alot of clotting with them...but doc says im fine...just things getting normalized. Good luck

I was always fairly regular before surgery, though they were no more then 3 days tops, start to finish.
Now they are VERY regular and run the entire 7 days, hurt like heck, I have major PMS going on, something I never had before. Is this what it is like to be normal?
Welcome to the real world.
Hang in there!

I had the same problem with my cycles post -op, in addition to other symptoms the doctor's diagnosed me as having PCOS. I'm two months out and have cycled twice....sort of regular. What shocked me was the feelings of PMS, and food cravings....I forgot what it was like!
We'll see how it goes over the next couple months!
Hope you are having a good day!
I have never been one to keep track of my menstrual cycle but I do know that after having my two sons and having my tubes tied mine was also a two or three day thing. Just before surgery I missed a period and the general consensus was that between me discontinuing my pain meds for my back and all the stress I had been through was the reason for me missing it. Like you shortly after my surgery which was between three to four weeks from my last cycle i started. I had it for three days like normal but then about two days later I started again and it lasted around two weeks. This was not what I would call normal looking I wont give the gory details but after talking to my doctor I was told it was normal.
