New To board..and have surgery on March 8, 2004
Hi,
My name is Kris, and I have been reading these posts for the last several weeks, and have now joined and am reading these local posts as well as the ones for the march 2004 surgeries.
Mine is NEXT monday, March 8, 2004. I am having a lap rny with Dr.Tudor.
I have emailed several of you over the past months and so appreciate all the warm response!
Not much to say really..but I am excited, and getting nervous.
I do want to ask this, since I havent talked yet with any EMMC people about pre-op stuff. Do Lap patients have any special pre op diet, or anything I should know about?
I have been reading on the march 2004 board that others are drinking this pre op liquid stuff..maybe its surgeon specific..
Just curious if those of you who had Dr. Tudor have any words of wisdom!
Thanks so much and I hope to be at the support group meeting friday evening!
Kris
Hi Kris,
Welcome aboard!
As you know I had a Lap RNY with Dr. Toder. My surgery was scheduled for 11:15 so I could not have anything to eat after midnight the night before, only water, and nothing after 6am. Do you know what time your surgery is? Hope this helps give you an idea. She never gave me anything special to drink or anything.
Val
Welcome Kris,
I had open RNY with Dr. Clough so I can't help you with what Dr. Toder requires, but I wanted to wish you the best with your surgery!! EMMC has a wonderful biaratric team.
I would think what Val said is what she requires from everyone. I didn't know anything until the nurse called me a couple days before surgery. I think it was nothing to eat after 9, and nothing to drink after midnight, except a little water with my pills the morning of surgery. It is all a blue to me now..lol.
Best wishes during your surgery and hospital stay. I thought the nurses on the floor were great!!
Take Care...Kell
Kris,
Welcome to this wonderful board, glad to see you posting.
As you know, I also had Lap RNY with Dr. Toder. I didn't have to do anything special before surgery--I think my surgery was at 7 am and the only thing was that I couldn't eat or drink anything after midnight the night before.
Good luck with your surgery--you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Jill
