Hi, Just wanted to let everyone know, that I have finally joined those who can officially eat. Dr. Toder tends to keep her patients on a liquid diet for a longer period of time, and after 3.5 weeks out I can eat real food!!!! Dayna said I am down 26 lbs and have lost 20% of my excess weight. yeah!!! she also said that I can expect my weight loss to slow down quite a bit because for my size, 20% weight loss is usually around 6weeks out. Oh well as long as it keeps coming off. Val

Val, You are doing great!! I went to my pcp for my physical yesterday and I lost 6 pounds since i saw Dayna on the 18th, so I was pretty pleased with that. I had only lost 5 pounds in 3 weeks when I saw Dayna and I was terribly upset!! My daughter called me a looser last night. I looked at her and said EXCUSE ME??!!!! she said well I can call you that now because you are an official loser with you weight.. I had to laugh but reminded her to watch the reasoning behind it.. LOL. 12 year olds!!!! About Aunt Mattie's funeral, I would have gone to see you. I was still feeling a little blah. I think I was like 10 days out and still had a line of staples in place. I didn't know you were haivng surgery at the time. We had to run and be home before the kids got home that day. We weren't planning to go to the luncheon but my sister insisted on it. This is sad but I had never saw Joe before until that day. I can't get over how much he looks like my father. I love Aunt Mattie's family and so wish I could have gotten to see her more. I remember stopping by everytime we were in the neighborhood. My health went down as well as my Mom's and we just didn't get there enough. I guess this isn't the place to ramble on about that... Keep in touch. [email protected]. Again, congrats on your weightloss!!!!!!!! It is gone FOREVER!!!!!!!!!! Kell

That is wonderful news Val!!!! Your loss doesnt have to slow down THAT much. I lost about 12 lbs the second month, then from 8 to 10 for the next couple months. Then it varied. Of course I am still on that platue now. Keep up the great job! I can not wait to meet you. Theresa

I remember those days of the liquid diet--I didn't think I would ever get to eat "real" food again and I remember thinking that I wish I would have went with Dr. Clough instead of Toder just because I was quite sure that the liquid stage was going to last FOREVER!!!! Congrats on your loss, that is awesome! Keep up the good work. Jill
