Pepperoni chips - yum!
I have been having trouble with protein this week. My cold has made me less hungry but I pray that it's nearly over now.
I have tried many solid proteins and many go down alright but feel like a rock till they pass through.
I remember at a support meeting some time ago a lady suggested pepperoni chps. She bought turkey presliced pepperoni and put them in the micro-wave for 60 seconds. Make sure they are on 2 layers or more of paper towel and turn them after 30 seconds. YUM! Good protein, spicy and crunchy.
Anyone else have a good replacement for crunchy snacks?
When can we have pop corn?
I am 4 weeks post op.
Ron, I can't believe it has been a month already for you. Does it seem like the time has passed quickly. How are you feeling? I sure hope you cold is getting better. My daughter has been sick all week also. I love the roni chip idea, I am going to have to try that. 5 more weeks until my surgery. Good Luck and keep in touch.

I checked the sodium and the turkey pep is higher than is the regular. If you cook the chips on paper towel, the towel absorbs the fat that is cooked out.
I am eating/ keeping foods down better today. My sugars are lower today then they were all of last week. Must have to do with that nasty cold. I haven't weighed myself this week. I do feel better and able to walk upright without that belly making me slump.
I still have my belly but you know what I mean anyway.
Each day I do have the craving for a good woman. Someone to cuddle with, etc... I guess my testosterone levels are getting higher. I can't imagine how horny I'll be when I start working out at the gym.
Well, oh yeah deep subject...DUH!
I guess I will have to break down and try the pepperoni thingys. You make them sound yummy!
As for the protein, just take it 1 day at a time. You are doing wonderful so do not get down on it.
I believe I started eating popcorn at about 3 months out and have not looked back. I am afraid it is one of those things I can not say no to, nor do I want to. Could be worse things I supose.
Thanks for always having such a great attitude, you are one special man!

Hi Ron,
One of my other favorite "chips" is cheese chips. You get a hard cheese, mild cheddar is good, so is the colby jack shredded cheese. Use a non-stick pan & heat it up, make little stacks of the cheese, cook till bubbly, give it a flip to cook the other side, place on paper towel, then enjoy. It doesn't take long, there is a fine line between crunchy & burnt. But they are so good.
Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Cindy
