Hi Everyone, I had my 2 week appointment with Dr. Clough on Wednesday. He pulled my staples and said my incision looked good. Now it's itching like crazy!!! I've also lost 26 pounds since the day of surgery. I was really excited. 24 more pounds before I hit my goal of 50 pounds for the 6 week mark. I have to go see Dayna next Wednesday. I seem to be thirsty all the time. I get to the point that I wish I could just drink a whole glass of water right down but know that I can't. Can any one tell me the reason that we are no suppose to drink out of a straw? I think that it would be better if we could. Talk to you all later. Michelle

Great job!!! Sounds like a wonderful loss. Be prepared that you might not loose for a week or 2, seems like many of us had that problem around 2-5 weeks. Hopefully it wont affect you though. I used a straw at some point, I am sure it was before my 6th week. Didn't do much for me though. I longed to be able to just gulp water down, funny how something so trivial as that would be soooooooooo missed. I am now 7 months out and can definetly take bigger drinks, but sometimes I take in a bit to much and the air bubles HURT! I then burp and burp, which of course my kids find very humorous, but I would rather not do. Good luck and keep up the great job! Theresa

Hi Michelle, Congrats on the wonderful progress. You are doing just great for 2 weeks out. I was thirsty alot too at first. Just concentrate on getting six 8oz glasses at the very least and you should stay hydrated (more if you're able to). If your mouth feels too dry try rinsing now and then to get the moisture. No straws is because of the possible air bubbles. Try it to see if it works for you and if it feels bad stop. I use one from time to time. But then again I didn't really use a straw often before surgery...now my Mom seems to think she can't live without a straw and carries them in her purse...lol. Casey
