Am I normal?
I don't know if this is normal, if I am just lucky, or I just haven't explored enough, but everything, and I mean everything I have eaten, I have had absolutely no problems with. I have tried most meats, did fine, the vegetables I have tried, did fine, and I am not much of a fruit eater but I have eaten bananas, grapes, and watermelon, and did fine with all of it. the only thing was, I didn't feel like I cared much for the watermelon, but didn't get sick or anything.
After Wed, Lynn told me I would be pretty much unrestricted. (After I see Dayna that day). The scary part is that I am so afraid of tolerating everything and going back to old habits.
Of course I can only eat a little bit but right now is pretty scary because to tell you the truth, I was hoping I WOULDN'T be able to tolerate at least some foods. Can anyone relate to this?????
Someone Help!!!!!!
Kell
ps: two more days until I get weighed!!!!
Kelley: Define normal!?---Actually, I seem to tolerate most foods too. Can eat everything--but I have not tried anything with sugar(cookies, cake, white bread, anything white) outside of fruits with natural sugar. I can eat steak, chicken, fish--veggies, skim milk. I did get sick once on fish chowder(think I ate it too soon) and felt terrible after eating string cheese too quickly. And, yes, I think we have to stay alert to old eating habits because from what I've in support group--that after a year, we can eat more food( up to a cup) and if we don't exercise and stay the course, we can regain some weight. I had my 3 month check up with Dayna and she said the weight loss begins to slow down now--I thought it was 6 to 8 months when that occured. Oh well. I am also exercisng a lot now--working out three days a week at EMMC's rehab center on Union Street(free for three months) and l love it. Also walking more often.
Hang in there--we've come so far---we need to stay the course.

Hi Jane,
I have not tried anything that I am not suppose to have either. I just hear so many people saying they can't tolerate this or that food. I have had no problems at all.
I wondered if that was normal. I guess it is, and don't know why I even asked that. ha ha. I am so scared of anything I havent tried. I read the nutritian information over and over again.. just to make sure there is no sugar and that it is low carbs....
Staying on track seems to be easy for now. I just hope I can stay this way!!

Kelley,
I haven't had problems with anything either. Although once I did get sick from meat that was too greasy (that was at 7 months out). And once I was stupid and had a choc chip cookie which gave me the sweats.
Just enjoy it! Old habits are hard to break but if you make the effort to choose things that are healthy then if you do have a snack at least it will be good for you.
Just work with what you have been given and if you feel out of control have someone help you through it.
Goodluck!

You sound just like me! Exactly! I have found in the last 7 months that things bother me for a while then they wont, it is day by day.
I do get scared that I can tolerate everything and going back to my old habits. I have gone back to some, sort of, but then again I have come so far. They arent really old habits, maybe new ones.
Oh I don't know. This is what I get for multi-tasking.
Luv ya,
Theresa
