I'm a little worried about something...

I was touching my stomach on the incision line and felt a bump. It's kinda hard and feels roundish. Would this be a hernia? I am going to call Dr. Clough's office in the morning just to talk about it...but I thought someone here might have had something like this too... If it is a hernia related to the incision what would happen with it? Like what problems might it cause or would it need to be fixed? Thank you, Casey

Hi Casey, You are doing the right thing in calling Dr. Clough. With something like you are describing it is best not to wait and see if others have had it, since there is no way to compare your bump with others. Keep us informed, hopefully it is just the way the incision is made. Thing of ya, Cindy

the bottom of my incision i have a bump too, but it's just scar tissue. hernia should move if you lay on your back and cough, scare tissue shouldn't. but it's good to get it checked out.

Thanks for the info Jennifer. When I saw Clough recently he didn't touch the incsion line at all. It was the 6 month follow up. At the previous appointment he did and said I had a good scar ridge so maybe the bump was there before but I don't think I had pushed on it myself until now. Casey PS You are doing so great!!! Maybe I'll see you at a meeting sometime.

Casey ~ I had the same thing too!! I went to my doctor fearing that I had another hernia and he told me no. He was right! The bump went away within a few weeks. Hang in there!!

Hi Terri, Thank you! As I have never had a surgical proceedure before this is all new to me. I talked to Dr Clough's nurse who said it is part of the scar ridge as I has assumed so all is fine. Yipee! Casey
